Frequently Asked Questions

How often you change your hot tub water can depend significantly on how frequently you use your spa, the quality of water used to fill it, and how well the water is maintained throughout its use.

As a general rule of thumb, we recommend draining, cleaning, and refilling the hot tub every 3 to 4 months for optimal operation.
A clean and functioning filter is key to an operational filtration system as it catches and removes dirt and debris, keeping the water crystal clear and free of impurities.
For many spa owners, regular service and maintenance from a professional is worth it.

Cleaning a spa can take half a day or more, depending on the size of your hot tub and how long it's been since the last drain, clean, and fill.

Regular service can help ensure your spa water is always safe, enjoyable, and ready to use.
Our services include balancing the water, cleaning the filters, and applying a protective coating. We use 303 Protective Vinyl Cleaner on the cover, which puts a UV barrier over it.

We also vacuum the spa for anything you can’t get with the skimmer.
The chemicals you use to maintain your hot tub will be specific to what type of sanitation system you have.

Most people use two primary sanitizers in their spa. The first one is chlorine. It’s cheaper than bromine, but it burns off faster. The second is bromine. Bromine is more expensive, but it doesn’t burn off as fast as chlorine does, and you don’t get that harsh chlorine smell with bromine.
